Happy 26th Birthday Cafe Pesto Kawaihae!

May 5, 2014 marked Cafe Pesto Kawaihae‘s 26th birthday! In 1988 we first opened our doors in the quaint harbor town of Kawaihae as a small take-out pizzeria. Fast forward to today and Cafe Pesto is an award winning dining establishment.

We would like to thank our dear customers – kamaʻāina (locals) and  malahini (visitors) alike – for their ongoing patronage these past 26 years! We look forward to dishing out more delicious cuisine to our Hawaii island guests!

My husband and I have been coming to Cafe Pesto since it began as We’re talking Pizza back in 1988. We started our love affair with Cafe Pesto with one slice of pizzaI Immediately after eating the one piece, which was so good, we ordered a whole pizza, even though we weren’t even hungry! Now every time we come to the Big Island, we make sure to eat at Cafe Pesto a few times! It still is as good as it was back in 1988! Infact, the pizza you serve is the best we have had anywhere, including NY. The best news is we are back on the Big Island now and am going to Cafe Pesto tomorrow! So looking forward to our lunch tomorrow! Happy Anniversary!
